Welcome to my FREMO journey.

After taking a long break from N-scale model railways and moving over to Märklin H0 during the post-Covid period, I came across FREMO through a colleague whom I had first met more than twelve years earlier at an N-scale Stammtisch. He invited me to one of his FREMO meets — and from there, there was no turning back.

What particularly caught my interest was that FREMO is not simply about joining modules together to create a large temporary layout. The modules provide the railway, but the real focus is on operating it together: trains running to a timetable, freight being moved between operating locations, and members taking on different railway roles during an operating session.

That combination of model building, railway operation and learning from other modellers eventually brought me back to N scale through FREMO N-RE and increasingly shaped the direction of this blog.
