Verden-Walsroder Eisenbahn (VWE): Adopting FREMO N-RE and MOROP NEM Standards for My Modules

Deutsche Version weiter unten, hier klicken. Building on What I Have Already Learned When I built my first N-scale segment layout in 2014, I followed the minimum requirements of the MOROP NEM standards wherever they applied. I carried that approach into my subsequent modules, and I intend to continue doing so with my Verden-Walsroder Eisenbahn (VWE) project. Revisiting the MOROP NEM standards recently reminded me of an important distinction. Meeting the minimum NEM requirements is one thing. Building modules that will operate reliably as part of a larger FREMO N-RE arrangement is another. The two complement each other, but they … Continue reading Verden-Walsroder Eisenbahn (VWE): Adopting FREMO N-RE and MOROP NEM Standards for My Modules

Verden-Walsroder Eisenbahn (VWE): Operational Baseline — Concept 2.0 and Framework 2.1

Deutsche Version weiter unten, hier klicken. After several rounds of research, reconstruction and operating discussion, I now treat two documents as the stable operational baseline for my VWE project: Freight Operations Concept 2.0 is the core freight traffic and operating concept. It describes how freight moves between DB Verden (Aller), Verden (Aller) Süd, Eitze and the rest of the VWE: how wagons arrive and leave through DB, how Verden (Aller) Süd receives, sorts and forms the traffic, how customer demand creates the work, and how the timetable, weekday rhythm and changing traffic between 1979 and 1989 shape the operating day. N-RE … Continue reading Verden-Walsroder Eisenbahn (VWE): Operational Baseline — Concept 2.0 and Framework 2.1

Verden-Walsroder Eisenbahn (VWE): Bringing My Module Group into a FREMO N-RE Arrangement

Deutsche Version weiter unten, hier klicken. Update, 4 October 2026: Since writing this proposal, I have published FREMO N-RE Integration Framework 2.1. I now place the VWE group within the shared FREMO N-RE freight and timetable system. My research supplies the customers, traffic and local operating practice; the meeting supplies the common framework in which that work takes place. The proposal below remains part of that development. The dated clarifications explain what this means for the wagon paperwork, connections and arrangements I would agree before a meeting. While looking for suitable N-scale wagons, I realised that the question was becoming larger … Continue reading Verden-Walsroder Eisenbahn (VWE): Bringing My Module Group into a FREMO N-RE Arrangement
