Verden-Walsroder Eisenbahn (VWE): Track Plan on “Effem (Eitze)” and “Kuhweg” Adjusted

Deutsche Version weiter unten, hier klicken.

The module frame construction is now officially complete. All legs can be attached to and removed from each segment, making every module free-standing, with the exception of the newly added “Kuhweg” module. Since it only has two legs, it needs to be supported by the adjoining modules. Even so, I prefer this new arrangement.

The overall length of the combined Effem/Kuhweg module group has remained more or less the same, but the 400 × 400 mm segment now forms the separate “Kuhweg” module. This makes Effem itself slightly more compact while giving me a much better visual transition towards “Verden (Aller) Süd”.

For now, “Verden (Aller) Süd” will have to wait a few more years until I am “finished” with Effem/Kuhweg. The track plan is therefore still only a rough concept, but it should give you a good idea of how the future station will eventually look.

The track arrangement around Effem, Badenhop, and Heibo has remained largely unchanged. Instead of the original 2.5° alignment, I reduced the angle to just 1°. I also moved the 400 × 400 mm module to the end of the layout. This gives me more space for the Badenhop/Heibo side, while Effem becomes slightly more compact.

With the new arrangement in place, I also adjusted the position of the buildings. The visualisation below shows my current concept, which I have tried to match as closely as possible to the real location based on the information available to me at this stage.

I have also included a closer view of the “Kuhweg” module. I won’t be modelling every structure visible on Google Maps. Instead, the siding on this module will represent an abandoned industrial siding. The turnout leading to it, which was once located near the Hans Freitag factory, has already been removed in the prototype.

My cable order is finally on its way, so over the next few months I’ll be concentrating on laying the track and turnouts, wiring everything up, and thoroughly testing all the electrical connections.

DEUTSCHE VERSION
